Maldon Landscape Prize

The painting “Landscape” (2023) has been shortlisted for the inaugural Maldon Landscape Prize.

An exhibition of finalists’ work will be held from 29 October 2023 – 11 November 2023. An award of $10,000 will be awarded on 28 October.

Artist Statement

This painting was completed en plein air in Central Victoria.

I have worked to capture the mood, atmosphere and feeling of a particular place near Yandoit.

The palette is restricted and the composition is distilled. Each brushstroke contributes to an overall sense of tranquility and unforced harmony.

My hope is that viewers can enjoy the same degree of immersion and connection that I did while painting.
